Meta Platforms shares are performing well, thanks to strong interest from both Wall Street and consumers in the company’s new AI assistant, Muse, and its overall AI strategy.
The recent jump in Meta’s stock might be just the start, especially if the shares can move above a key resistance level that has been tough to pass.
Meta’s shares slipped a bit in premarket trading on Friday, giving back some of Thursday’s strong gains. Still, the stock is up over 16% for the week and is set for its best monthly performance in more than 13 years, according to Dow Jones Market Data.
Muse has been the main reason for the stock’s rally, with both Meta and outside analysts calling it possibly the biggest AI product launch since ChatGPT. After releasing Muse, Meta held its Connect keynote, which led many Wall Street analysts to raise their price targets as more gains seem possible. Even with this month’s strong performance, the stock is still just below an important price level and a bit under its record closing high from August 2025.
Chart analysis shows the stock has traded in a wide range for over a year. If it can move and stay above this key resistance level, some analysts think the Muse-driven rally could still have a long way to go.
Recent price target increases from Wall Street back up this view. Canaccord Genuity raised its price target for Meta this week, suggesting there is still room for the stock to rise from Thursday’s close. The firm expects shares to keep climbing as Muse shows that Meta’s investment in model development and infrastructure can support a product that brings in subscription revenue and, over time, transaction fees. Advertising could add even more upside. Canaccord also pointed out that Meta’s large app ecosystem and strong advertising business allow it to keep Muse’s fees low, while other AI companies may need to charge more right away.
TD Cowen shared this positive outlook and also raised its price target for Meta on Friday. The firm said Meta’s overall AI strategy is much clearer after the Muse launch. They are encouraged by the variety of hardware products expected to support Muse and by the company’s product release schedule shared at the Connect event.
