Extended Hours Disclosures:

You should consider the following points before engaging in extended hours trading. "Extended hours trading" means trading outside of “regular trading hours.” “Regular trading hours” generally means the time between 9:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

•   Risk of Lower Liquidity. Liquidity refers to the ability of market participants to buy and sell securities. Generally, the more orders that are available in a market, the greater the liquidity. Liquidity is important because with greater liquidity it is easier for investors to buy or sell securities, and as a result, investors are more likely to pay or receive a competitive price for securities purchased or sold. There may be lower liquidity in extended hours trading as compared to regular trading hours. As a result, your order may only be partially executed, or not at all.

•  Risk of Higher Volatility. Volatility refers to the changes in price that securities undergo when trading. Generally, the higher the volatility of a security, the greater its price swings. There may be greater volatility in extended hours trading than in regular trading hours. As a result, your order may only be partially executed, or not at all, or you may receive an inferior price when engaging in extended hours trading than you would during regular trading hours.

•  Risk of Changing Prices. The prices of securities traded in extended hours trading may not reflect the prices either at the end of regular trading hours, or upon the opening the next morning. As a result, you may receive an inferior price when engaging in extended hours trading than you would during regular trading hours.

•  Risk of Unlinked Markets. Depending on the extended hours trading system or the time of day, the prices displayed on a particular extended hours trading system may not reflect the prices in other concurrently operating extended hours trading systems dealing in the same securities. Accordingly, you may receive an inferior price in one extended hours trading system than you would in another extended hours trading system.

•  Risk of News Announcements. Normally, issuers make news announcements that may affect the price of their securities after regular trading hours. Similarly, important financial information is frequently announced outside of regular trading hours. In extended hours trading, these announcements may occur during trading, and if combined with lower liquidity and higher volatility, may cause an exaggerated and unsustainable effect on the price of a security.

•  Risk of Wider Spreads. The spread refers to the difference in price between what you can buy a security for and what you can sell it for. Lower liquidity and higher volatility in extended hours trading may result in wider than normal spreads for a particular security.

Yes, pre-market trading begins at 7:30 am EST and post-market trading ends at 5:30 pm EST

Level 2 market data stream comes standard with the Active Account and is included in the monthly subscription cost.

You may need to review our margin policy as stocks with value less than $5 have different margin requirements. You may view our Margin Policy here.

For an Active Account, your account equity may have hit a Total Loss risk restriction or may have fallen below the minimum required for trading. When this occurs, the platform will auto-liquidate your positions and close your account. Accounts must maintain a minimum balance of $350 to meet monthly subscriptions, hold positions, and maintain trading permissions.

For a Standard Account, you may have failed to fulfill a margin call. When this occurs, the platform will auto-liquidate your positions.

Opening an options account is simple. You just need to submit an application for approval on the Capital Markets Elite Group onboarding portal by filling out the relevant information and providing the required account opening documents.

We can get the accounts open relativity quickly. We wouldn’t expect your new account to take longer than a few business days to open.

Each account needs compliance and risk approval to trade a specific asset class. Standard, Active and Enhanced accounts can apply for equities trading, options trading or both. Once you are approved by Capital Markets Elite Group, you will be allowed to execute trades in your respective asset classes.

When you are going through the new account process, make sure you click on “Open an Options Account”, tell us about your experience in options trading and tell us the type of options strategies that you’d like to employ (Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3). This is all in compliance with the Capital Markets Elite Group’s Know Your Customer (KYC) polices and helps us to ensure that we understand your experience levels and risk tolerance to better service your account.

To open an options account, you need to have some trading experience, whether direct experience trading options or indirect experience trading equities. Trading options typically involves more risk than trading equities, so they may not be suitable for those with a lower risk tolerance.

An equity option is a financial instrument and derivative based on the underlying value of the stock. It gives the buyer the right but not the obligation to buy (call) or sell (put) a predetermined quantity (100 share increments) of an underlying security for a specific period of time at a pre-established price.

A strike price is the price at which a put or call option can be exercised.

Option premium is the price an option buyer pays for having the right to buy (call option) or right to sell (put option) the underlying stock at a specified price (strike price). An options seller would receive the premium by being on the other side of the trade.

Options time decay is the reduction in the value of an option as the time to the expiration date approaches. Its time value is how much time plays into the premium for the contract. The countdown for time decay begins as soon as the option is initially purchased and continues until expiration.

The expiration date of an option contract is the last day that an options or futures contract is valid. Expiration day for equity and index options is always the third Friday of the expiration month. Monthly options expire on the third Friday of the expiration month. Options trading near its expiration date can be more volatile as the options price approaches zero.

For long calls (a bullish trade), the maximum risk is limited to the initial premium paid, while the maximum reward is theoretically unlimited as the stock price could rise to infinity. Profit would be made when the stock price rises above the strike price, minus the premium paid.

For long puts (a bearish trade), the maximum risk is also limited to the initial premium paid, while the maximum profit would be made if/when the stock drops to zero before the contract's expiration. Profit would be made when the stock price falls below the strike price, minus the premium paid.

While Capital Markets Elite Group does not require a minimum balance to open a standard account to trade equities, we do require minimum equity in order to place certain option orders.  See below:

Option Strategy Minimum Equity Required:

Covered Calls and Puts No Minimum
Buying Puts & Calls    $1,000

Requires Special Risk and Compliance Approval:

Spreads, Straddles, Butterflies, etc.  $5,000
Uncovered (Naked) Puts $10,000

Currently, Capital Market Elite Group does not offer uncovered (naked) calls trading. Uncovered calls involve extremely high risk. For example, if you write a naked call, your maximum profit is the amount of premium you sold and the maximum loss is unlimited, as the price could theoretically rise to infinity.

Capital Market Elite Group allows opening position(s) in same-day-expiring options up to 2 PM EST., 2 Hours before market close. Un-executed opening-position same-day-expiring options orders will be automatically canceled at 3 PM EST., 1 Hour before market close.

To exercise your option contract(s), simply send an email to options@cmelitegroup.com, detailing the below:

Your full name, and Capital Market Elite Group Limited account number
The number of contracts you would like to exercise
The underlying symbol, expiration, and strike price
Please note that exercise-requests can be submitted until 3:30 PM EST. on the trading day prior to the last trading day of the option contract.

To request a do-not-exercise for your long-option-contract(s), simply send an email to options@cmelitegroup.com, detailing the below:

Your full name, and Capital Market Elite Group Limited account number
The number of contracts you would like to do-not-exercise
The underlying symbol, expiration, and strike price
Please note that do-not-exercise-requests can be submitted until 3:30 PM EST. on the last trading day of the option contract.

If the premium is $0.01 or above (in the money) on the last day of trading, and there is sufficient account equity, generally the option contract will be automatically exercised. If the premium is below $0.01 (out of the money), generally the option will expire (out of the money options short-positions could potentially still get assigned). Capital Market Elite Group reserves the right to close an option position that may be subject to exercise or assignment, depending upon account equity, buying power, and market conditions.

Options related to equities and indexes are quoted in increments of $0.05 for option series with a premium below $3, and $0.10 for all option series with a premium of $3 and above.

Prior to executing options trades, traders must read a copy of the Characteristics & Risks of Standardized Options, also known as the options disclosure document (ODD) and the Supplement.

It explains the characteristics and risks of exchange traded options.

It means that the username you have entered does not exist. Please ensure you are entering the username provided in your account approval email with no typos. If you think you are entering the correct username, make sure you are connecting to the right server and version of the platform.

You would have received this error message because your account is currently deactivated. This may be due to the account not being funded or the equity balance falling below the minimum maintenance requirement. Please ensure the password you are entering is correct. Note that this field is case sensitive and the passwords for the account management portal and the trading platform are not linked.

On the montage or level II window, there is a drop-down box to select your account. You can select and switch between both your live and simulator accounts via this drop-down. This selection may change as you browse through different symbols. Therefore, please ensure that a default account is set for your montage window in making your trades.

To check shortable stocks on the DAS platform, you can go to the "Trade" menu and select "Short List".

You can enter the stock symbol to search for stocks you want to short.

The montage window would also indicate a shortable stock by an “S” under the anchor icon. If there is no ETB symbol, this means stock is not easy to borrow/shortable. If a stock is not ETB, then it is Hard To Borrow (HTB). HTB stocks can be shorted by locating shares using the Locate Monitor feature

To check shortable stocks on Sterling, the ETB (Easy To Borrow) symbol on the Sterling Platform indicates if a stock is shortable. This can be found on the status bar at the bottom of the montage window. Please note that the account field must be populated for the symbol to show.

If there is no ETB symbol, this means stock is not easy to borrow/shortable. If a stock is not ETB, then it is Hard To Borrow (HTB). HTB stocks can be shorted by locating shares using the Locate Monitor feature.

There are 2 ISPs that clients can use to connect to the platform. Below you will find steps to switch ISPs to connect.

If you have changed the order of the network and still have network issues and an outage has not been reported, then it means the issue is your internet connection and beyond our platform providers. Capital Markets Elite Group's margin stop out level on MT5 platforms is 50%, which means that if your account's margin level drops to or below 50% of the margin required, the system will start closing your open positions automatically.

Capital Markets Elite Group supports the trading of micro-lots. A micro-lot in MetaTrader 5 is represented as 0.01, which is equivalent to 1000 units of the base currency. If your account is funded in US dollars, this means that a micro lot is $1,000 worth of the base currency you want to trade. If you are trading a dollar-based pair, 1 pip would be equal to 10 cents.

New accounts receive leverage of 100:1. If you are an experienced trader looking for additional leverage, our Support and Compliance teams can evaluate your requirements and consider your request.

We offer variable spreads that can be as low as 0.8 pips. We have no re-quoting: our clients are given directly the market price that our system receives.

Margin is the required amount in the base currency of the trading account needed to open or maintain a position.

When trading Forex, the required/used margin for a specific position = Number of Lots * Contract Size / Leverage. Here, the result is originally calculated in the first currency of the traded pair and then converted into the base currency of your trading account, which will be numerically displayed on your MT5 trading platform.

The margin requirement for gold and silver is calculated as: Lots * Contract Size * Market Price / Leverage. The result will be in USD, which will be converted into the base currency of your trading account (in case it is not USD).

For CFDs, the required margin = Lots * Contract Size * Opening Price * Margin Percentage. The result will be in USD, which will be converted into the base currency of your trading account (in case it is not USD).

Margin level is calculated with the formula: Equity / Margin * 100%.

Free margin is your equity minus margin. It means the available funds that you use for opening new positions, or for maintaining existing positions.

If you're currently long, make sure you're looking at a sell chart (you can change the chart type at the bottom of the chart itself). If you're short, make sure you're looking at a buy chart. If you still feel the stop loss should have been executed, please contact fxtrading@cmelitegroup.com.

Please make sure you have considered any additional costs, such as overnight holding costs. P&L on CFD trading accounts is calculated in the currency where the product is domiciled and then converted into your account currency.

There is no trading commission applied to FX and CFDs.  You only pay the spread, the difference between the bid and ask. Overnight holding charges/rebates are applicable for positions held after 5 pm EST.

Market orders are submitted at the current market price. However, these may not necessarily execute at the price requested. The trader executes these orders with a volume and price offered by the CFD provider and they will be filled at the best available bid/ask for the size (volume) the trader is trading.
A limit order is an order to buy or sell at a specific price or better. A buy limit order can only be executed at the limit price or lower, and a sell limit order can only be executed at the limit price or higher.

The trader may execute using a pending order if they expect the market to go up or down but do not wish to enter until a certain price level is reached. The order will not be filled if the price does not reach this level.
MT5 offers six types of pending orders:
Buy Limit
Sell Limit
Buy Stop
Sell Stop
Buy Stop Limit
